Lately, I have been seeing a lot of offshoring more than usual. This makes it even more difficult for US based tech workers because positions are now stacked for wage arbitrage. I still think that there's still plenty of Tech jobs that requires skilled engineers. Gone are the days of random IT positions, they probably shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

I’ve worked at the same well known tech company since I graduated school 8 years ago. I’ve been promoted 3 times so I’ve held a few different jobs within my org.

BUT .. I’ve applied to a few companies and getting no responses. Is it a deterrent for hiring managers/recruiters that my experience is based primarily at one company?

Why are there so many job postings that I have applied for but nothing happening? Are the jobs that are posted truly open? I know we are in 4th quarter and wasn’t sure if corporation’s like to hire then?

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

Let’s talk comp — I’m a remote head of recruitment with 6 years of experience being paid 75K base plus bonuses that got me to 90K this year. I’m interviewing for other jobs, and have a potential offer at $130K base. Any idea what the market is like? Is seems like anything between 72K and $250K is possible. I'm curious to know how many (and which) tech companies have resumed physical onsite interviews in their offices?

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go. What are some things recruiters expect from candidates in this situation to continue considering them?
