Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.
Anybody know where Dave went? He’s been MIA

Just waiting till next Monday to find out what fresh hell its going to be trying to get an Uber from the new system lol
Get uber black and expense it.
LAX needs the same numbering system Portland has. You request a pickup, you get assigned a number. You get to the pick up lot, get in line for a car. Once you get a car, you give the driver a code from the app to match and you’re on your way. No hassle trying to find the right car, there’s no backup of cars waiting for people who ordered before they really got there...it’s super efficient.
It is literally the first day of this system at LAX
I still like the Uber free-for-all model. A benefit of GPS is point-to-point pickup.
Using the cab line model unnecessarily routes everyone to the same spot causing bottlenecks.
Yes, and in fact on way there now. Have not seen new system but heard there are designated areas.
There’s really nothing better than sitting in traffic on your way to Terminal 4
Idk I kind of like the long flight, I get to nap undisturbed
Wrong answer. Please familiarize yourself with the new LAX nightmare offsite Uber pickups
what's the new Uber system? and why not do it normal like every other Road in the city.
there's no special line for an Uber outside of Penn Station, Time Square, Grand Central, and somehow the world keeps turning
oh! it's like at LGA (I confused the 2 for a min) --- all around a sucky system. I switched to EWR when LGA pulled that shit
All separate incidents: Waited 55 minutes for an Uber at 11 PM on a Wednesday. Nearly ended a relationship by having my now wife pick me up from LAX. Waited on the runway for an hour and a half because we didn’t have a gate. Waited for 45 minutes for a gate because someone left a luggage cart in front of the only open gate in the terminal. Traffic caused me to miss a flight home, we left her place so I would be an hour and a half early.
Fly into Burbank next time if you get the option.
We’ve been dealing with this shit at SFO for a while. Tips:
1. Book the car while deboarding if there’s a long wait or commute to pick up area. Cuts down on the amount of time you actively wait.
2. Get snacks/drinks before you leave the airport, while waiting for car. Think of it as treating yourself.
3. Dress appropriately for waiting area if you can’t waste time inside (umbrella, jacket, etc if needed). You’ll be more comfortable.
4. Think happy thoughts.
I also occasionally head into lounge after arrival to go to restroom or slam down a drink. Helps!
