Try your best but morale naturally goes down after layoffs, it’s the company’s problem and a reason to not go through with them don’t be too hard on yourself
That is a difficult situation. I was part of the team that did layoffs and it is weird for about a week. Remaining employees were quiet and seemed to wonder what is next. About job security, don't ever think you are secure, that is the first step on keeping your sanity. Second, you are still there for a reason, now is the time to do your best and focus on the job in front of you. Third, don't buy into the office gossip going around about certain employees, let it go and stay focused on the work in front of you. My last point is to never stop looking for a better job, meaning be open to other opportunities. I don't mean be looking for a job everyday, but be open to exploring other opportunities if you hear about them. Good luck.
Take control and start looking for another job. Depending on your age, it could be harder to find a job, if you’re involuntarily separated from your job.
The last time this happened to me, around 3 years ago now, I started job searching immediately.
Found a much better job and realised I'd been underpaid for ages. Doubled my salary and never looked back.
You could ride it out and see if you end up in a better situation after all the upheaval, but there's a good chance your workload will increase without updated title or pay review.
Anyway, it can't hurt to look around. Good luck!!
That’s extremely difficult. I’m glad to hear you didn’t get one, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t impact you. It fair to be a bit less productive for a few days
That is so hard. Good luck.
What type of industry are you in ? Job title ?
