Who’s negotiated severance? Any tips?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

I had a “check-in” with someone I’ve never checked-in with, R/GA is about as classy as beer bong.
To add insult to injury, they paused the promotion cycle and still had lay-offs. But not before they promoted execs who got us in this mess and called it a restructure.✌️
Also sounds familiar!!
Posting that flashy Ad Age article about their restructuring then doing layoffs a week later...classic R/GA behavior. Glad I fled that place last year.
How they handle it should also be brought to light. They notified some people last night during Halloween celebrations and then others today.
Could someone pls share with me the RGA bowl so I can join?
Across the US. R/GA restructured a few weeks ago, nixing all office based teams, making one giant USA team. It was a Trojan horse for layoffs. People saw through it
It’s probably the smart thing to do as the way we work has changed as has the necessity to all be in the same place. It’s hard to do, but there will likely be a payoff. The layoffs suck though.
AGAIN?!
This is also after they told us “no review cycle or promotions this season”. And we were lead to believe it was to prevent layoffs.
Oh and also by notifying they put “check-ins” on peoples calendars. I’m hearing at least 30 or so.
No, all talent now works for RGA US. Office buildings remain open, it is a restructure.
Damn I’m sorry
R/GA Portland has been a virtual office for a while. There's a team from Portland and across the US that works for Nike.
Sorry to hear this!

Which business did they lose?
They didn’t. Just less money from clients plus went 2 hard in the metaverse.

Still, sorry to everyone affected.

PDX office seemed to have closed
PDX didn’t close, even before the restructuring, PDX gave up their physical space as most live remote and work virtually. I mean technically it’s all USA in one with restructuring but those on the PDX team are still around
Damn. Sorry everyone.
Tough. I was laid off recently too
