Depends on the project and client. Biglaw healthcare partners with experience in drug or device pricing or coding get more than $1,000 per hour at top shelf firms with great regulatory reputations. Those who do government relations often are paid a monthly retainer renewed on an annual basis. Even for less complex projects someone at your experience level who knows something that’s uncommon should at least be in the $600 range I would think. Do you know what your company paid outside counsel to do work in your area of expertise?

Makes sense. I've been so isolated it's been really hard to get meaningful data but I'm just in the building phase of things, planning on leaving in May and setting up my client base around April. I already have a good amount of interest but no price discussions.
