Legal Project Management Certification. Have you done it? Did you feel it was worthwhile? I'm considering the training program offered by Law Vision in the interest of transitioning away from PI litigation into a more non-lawyer operational management type role. If you've been down this road, I'm curious to hear about your experience. Thank you.

What is legal project management?

like

I did a deep dive into project management. The real certification is the one issued by PMI. The legal spin on it is really based on your experience. But when I go on LinkedIn and plug in legal project management and use the "people " filter, it's attorneys who have gotten the PMP from PMI and then maybe they took courses focused on legal project management.

Thank you.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

I may be promoted this year but I’m honestly afraid I will miss out on market matching bonuses. Counsel comp at my v50 is not bad. But for associates, the firm will match any Cravath/NY bonus, and I’m afraid the individualized nature of counsel comp will result in taking a hit.

I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation.
