Let’s talk workspaces… what is the seating like at your company? Do you have assigned or unassigned seating? Cubicles? Offices?

It’s unassigned seating as WF. The workspace is basically a bunch of small IKEA tabletops clustered together (4 - 6 desks in a cluster). No cubicle walls (or even mini walls) or privacy from your neighbors. 3days in office / 2days remote. This is wearing me out. So for the new year, I’m interested if there are any financial companies not doing this floor plan.

Hi all, I’m interested in knowing if you have noticed any management tools and methods that are effective for your team since the pandemic, especially if your company had the WFH setup. Your perspective could either be the team leader or a teammate.

How are you taking care of yourself if you have depression? All of my ways of staying grounded and motivated were attached to my routine and the fulfillment from work. I feel like I’m losing all motivation and struggling more the longer remote learning goes on.

What consulting companies allow remote work abroad for extended period of time!?

it feels like every survey about working from home is (poorly) designed to answer the useless question "would you rather work from home or from the office." I submit that the set of people who prefers to have only one of those two options, always and forever, is the null set. which means it DOES NOT MATTER because the correct answer is always going to be "make both possible." you're welcome, HR departments everywhere.

Hi All, I am 11 yoe, working at a medium sized product company and I got an offer from Thoughtworks (50% hike) for a Lead Consultant role in data engineer profile.

Being a mother, I have anxiety and nervousness about joining a service based company bcoz of doubts below.

Im starting a new job but still employed somewhere else. I was trying to be open about staying at BOTH places. My current job won’t let me be part time because they don’t allow “set schedules”. Yet I am one of the only reliable and loyal employees in the department, and currently working a set schedule. So why will they not let me continue a set schedule but with different hours? This place is more focused on strict policies and not actually trying to work their employees and being flexible.

I will be joining IBM next week in Bangalore ( physical onboarding ) and my hometown is in West bengal , My father is having health problems , mother won't be able to handle everything and no such person we can rely on . Also I am getting married in January . Hence If i stay in Bangalore there will be no one to take responsibility for my marriage prep also .
