I expect the return to office policy will allow me to WFH… or rather just FH when I’m hungover on Friday. If this is the case then I’m satisfied
Have you done any PBL projects with students during remote learning? If so, how did they go?
Do you think your peers bill their time accurately? I’ve been using the timer on my time management website and trying to keep myself honest for my Instagram breaks, but my mentor (I’m a first year) said he just estimates time based on how many hours he worked that day. Our NYC V-5 firm always does block billing so it’s incredibly easy to say “8 hours on matter X”. Anyway, especially with work from home increasing distractions, do you keep yourself honest with billing?
So most people are WFH for the next few months probably. Does anyone feel like they’re learning the same amount as a junior if things were normal (more hands on, direct interaction, normal production, etc)? Would you consider the 6-12 months of working from home as proper experience to push you to mid level? I want to advance to mid-level (🤑) but also genuinely am concerned that maybe I’m not learning the ins and outs that I normally would as a junior right now.
Seeing freelance Account Supervisor or Account Director. Remote opportunity, 2-3 months with possibility to extend, hit me up if interested!!
I’m all about that work from home life. However it is insulting and unprofessional when a colleague who is in the office blows off a scheduled meeting with you when you are virtual as they bumped into another colleague in the office. Anyone else noticing issues like this now that we are in this hybrid mode. How do you address it?
Where to find remote tax gigs?
What B/D will take a guy with 0 AUM? I want to WFH for a year and go that route. I realize my options are limited (no current book, only previous clients). Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Anyone know of any Chicago firms (or firms elsewhere that will hire an Illinois licensed attorney) that don’t care if you want to work from home permanently? Preferably with good work life balance (I’m feeling burnt out in addition to wanting to wfh). Would take a pay cut and am fine with boutiques, whatever. Currently M&A/Finance (mostly finance/lending though) practice area. Thanks in advance!!
How do I ask to be fully remote? I’m sure this has been asked before; just want to get in front of it now and not later when everyone else is begging not to go back into the office. Can I cite my mental health as a reason? I work at a P**licis agency.
Is it acceptable to ask for a quick moment (20s) before responding to an interview question?

Have two days of virtual interviews with a company. Went thru HR stage and Hiring Mgr. Realizing now that while I love the company’s mission, the exact role I’m interviewing for doesn’t seem appealing. Any advice on how to handle? Go forward or cancel interviews? Bad look to cancel?

Okay so I recently got into Booth off the waitlist (so so stoked, my first choice) with no scholarship but have accepted an offer to Tuck with a 30k scholarship. Post MBA goals are MBB. Leaning hard on Booth but is there any chance they’d swing a scholarship at this point in the game?
