Hi Fishes, I have an interview with PwC AC in the coming week. My tech stack is Power BI, SQL, SSRS,SSIS and Tableau. YEO -4 Current CTC is 9 LPA. During the initial call with the recruiter he asked for ny expected CTC and I asked for 17 LPA. Can anyone from PwC comment on this? Is this too much to ask or is this what someone at my current level would get paid at PwC. Please let me know!!!! PwC PwC India Pwc AC Deloitte Deloitte USI

PWC. My husband works there and the way they’ve handled the pandemic and comp and making their employees feel valued is light years ahead of Deloitte.
I agree with those who say choose PWC. I started there as a campus hire 10+ years ago. I came back into big 4 later. Pwc was the best experience hands down. Deloitte is a fraternity and boys club, toxic, arrogant, workplace bullying is rampant but hidden. Some of that exists at PWC but I never felt it so heavily there. The biggest difference is the free work. At Deloitte they "require" you to do firm initiatives. And the time you put in is like a second job that you may or may not get paid for as part of your bonus. Many folk don't tell you because they have normalized it at the firm. I was never required to do internal work at PWC as part of my performance evaluation nor promotion. Best of luck to your friend.
PwC does highly encourage (at least 1 snapshot must be obtained for the year so it’s basically required) internal initiatives
Pro
Much better leadership at PWC. Avoid Deloitte, Accenture . These two laid off thousands during the height of the pandemic last year .
I second D1 ☝️

I'd say pwc because of the higher chance of a toxic culture at deloitte. I exited to industry a while ago, and let's just say multiple notable big tech firms have called Deloitte as the DDs. (Deloitte douchebags). Not saying they don't have brand recognition, but many deloiters I've met carry a lot of arrogance.

Avoid Deloitte. I left D a few years ago and joined PwC. Our culture is way better and more people oriented.
I don’t know about pwc, but I do know Deloitte. Been here over 10 years. Came because it was the best. But I feel Deloitte has lost its way a bit. Comp is not competitive, even when you have a clearance. Leadership is very smart, and know what they are doing. I trust them to do right by the company. But I feel it’s sometimes at the expense of us and our pay and our well-being. Idk what happened but I feel like it got worse during covid and I’m leaving for FAANG. My pay was stagnant and I was working like crazy. India to west coast times meant I was always working during my wake hours. I feel I have some bit of Stockholm syndrome because I feel terrible about leaving, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. I’m hoping outside D will be better. All that being said, if your friend is looking for name on their resume, I think Deloitte has the reputation of being number 1 of the big 4. So there’s that.
Thank you!
PwC . Would never go to Harvard
I've always wondered about this
Pwc has better people in my opinion. Had an offer there after college but wasn’t what I wanted money wise.
I also was in a similar position before and went with the other Big 4 (turned down deloitte)
Completely depends on the practice. Deloitte S&A set me up for my FAANG exit. Dont know if PwC would have done the same for me.
True that. Tbh, I was choosing between deloitte and another big 4. At the end of the day, it was weighting the culture versus prestige/exit opps
For me, I weighted the risk of being in a better culture more. Hopefully I made the right decision turning down Deloitte. The door is always open at D but I will probably want to leave to industry at that point.
I also don't even what I want to do in the future though so lol

Deloitte 5 that is not true anymore. We are required to get at least one “reinvest” snapshot at least 40 hours. If you don’t do more than that you won’t get the good bonus and you won’t get promoted. I imagine PwC is a bit better than Deloitte but overall things are probably fairly similar.
Rising Star
Because they’ve changed the culture to make you think it’s okay. If my utilization is over 100% I should not have to do 40 hrs reinvest. And I was saying that is the minimum. Your first two years you only get 2 weeks vacation. They are essentially requiring a week of your vacation in reinvest unless you were already going to be on the bench.
Avoid Deloitte.
Any consulting firm over D any day in my opinion.
Rising Star
Exactly. 40 hours of reinvest work is half your vacation if you are client utilized. It also doesn’t count towards utilization.
