McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

You've got this! Your public accounting experience is valuable and don't worry about thinking you should be further along in your career. Everyone's journey is different and you should be proud of yourself for getting back into the job market. I'm cheering for you!
What specific items do you need help with? Feel free to ask any questions here or DM directly.
Accounting is very straightforward and i’d bet anything that you know more than you realize
I did the opposite. Moved from staff accountant at university to Big 4. Totally get feeling like you should be further along. I changed careers very late. You just take it one day at a time. Listen, learn, ask. Like CR1 said, everyone’s journey is different.
Were you expected to know everything when you started in public accounting? No! I'm sure the same applies here. Try your best, ask questions, and connect with what you do know. You'll get the hang of it!
Just know that you will be fine. They train you and I am sure there is a grace there to give you time to learn so take it easy on yourself. Congratulations on the new position and be kind to yourself while you learn.🙂
its called google or chatgpt
Build on what you do know and don't be afraid to ask questions. If pissible, ask if you can shadow someone to help fill in the gaps. You will learn as you go. A big part of being successful is sticking with it when it is tough and don't give up. You are enough!!! You can do this.
Hi There, There are some training courses online and there are free.

I worked for only a year at a CPA office out of college, left and worked for myself in construction for 5+ years and only went back to accounting 4 years ago.
Started as an accountant as a municipality and was promoted to assistant finance director a year later. Moved on to a better opportunity after another year, and just finished CPA exams.
The amazing thing about experience in public accounting is you learn to be efficient and effective, which really helps you stand out when you transition out of public accounting as most people are taking it easy.
I am now re-applying to the original municipality for their now open finance director position. You may feel like you are way behind but it is easy to catch up... even if I had never left accounting for those 5+ years I'm doubtful I would be any further along in my career as I am now.
