Looking to make a switch from client relations associate in investment management with 3yoe to a role in FP&A/Corporate finance, etc. Currently in the process of getting my FMVA designation. Any advice on how to go about the change given that much of my experience is not very applicable?

I work in FP&A consolidations at a large sell side bank. I moved internally after working in the planning group of a Working Capital Solutions business. I often feel like I would enjoy client facing or advisory work because it would help me build a skill that could translate to me potentially running my own advisory firm one day… I feel my role just looks at numbers on a page which doesn’t help me develop translatable subject matter skills or expertise. a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
