Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

I’m interested in a similar move, also interested in a CB/IB coverage team (FIG maybe). Not sure if theres a good way to do this other than MBA
No, it's not worth taking a paycut. Is there anything in your experience that can position you for this role or explain interest and motivation? IB will be primarily looking at project finance modelling skills. It's rather technical and narrow specialty. Plus, the US market is relatively immature with varying PPP legislation across the states and limited funding mechanisms. It may be hard now, but if you have opportunity to work in the UK or other EU countries, it might accelerate your career in this field.
Appreciate the response. Pay cut would be small but unfortunately don’t have a huge set of transferable skills. 3 years capital project (PM) experience and an online finance course.
Does the firm you work at have a project finance consulting service? Most big4 firms do. If so, try networking and transferring to that group and then jumping to IB after a year or so. KPMG has a strong P3 group I believe. It may be easier this way and you'll avoid significant comp and benefits change.
I'd take a pay cut for IB any day...
