You realize that they’re shipping furniture that can weigh tens or hundreds of pounds and to avoid scratches and damages, generally has to be blanket wrapped?

You can always rent a truck and go pick it up. That is generally what I do, I have a truck but you can rent one for $25.

Road freight is at historic highs right now. If you cannot buy pickup from an outlet, you will either have to bite the bullet or wait it out.

It's hard to avoid shipping costs, but more likely to get items on sale. West Elm regularly has buy more get more sales of 15, 20, 25% off depending on how much you spend. And categories of furniture like dining or office go on sale from time to time. I'd recommend signing up for emails if you're trying to save a buck and want to catch a sale.

If they have a store near you, the inventory items are way cheaper. Their outlet is good, too.

WE lighting is mostly knocked off on wayfair. I once purchased the same light fixture— 2 from WE and then the 2 from wayfair for a less-trafficked area of my home. Wayfair was much cheaper, but...turns out I like the wayfair ones better.
