M3 offered project manager role in industry for $185k. I currently make $172k so this is not much of a raise except it gives me less stress and little travel. Yay or nay?

Keep us posted on what you decide. Also, what kind of role in insurance? I am in PwC FS Insurance. So def interested in types of exit ops

Oh hell yea take that. I’m sure there are ways back to consulting down the road too if you want to ever come back. That’s good $$ and a great work life setup.

like

Don’t make the decision based on money. It’s pretty much the same salary when you factor in all your travel perks (daily meal allowance, hotel points, miles)

helpful

Give it to me...

If u decide to not take it, I will be happy to talk to them

What kind of company / role is industry?

It’s for a big insurance company

Take it - you will be happier and your kids will love you!

Take two steps back - what are your career aspirations, and do either of these get you closer to that? I don’t recommend just only looking at the next decision in front of you.

Congrats on the offer and good luck with decision!

Go have a life

Yep !

Got any side hustles? Then take a job that lets you have a side hustle

Depending on your firm, if you have no interest in making partner, take it!!! There’s still room to move in industry and you’ll have work/life balance

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??

Something about me is both a curse and a blessing - I can't ignore what is not clear, logical, aligned, and simple. Even if that means that I have to work several minutes or hours extra on a document or an email. Things bother me if they aren't as expected. Unless I understand something clearly, I can't let it go. This is what helped me excel at studies. At work, my obsession makes it hard for people around me. If people complain about me, should I just let it go or change my approach?

I’m graduating from my MSA program and I have two offers:

1) FDD @ KPMG

2) CMAAS @ PwC (trying to move offer to valuations)

I want to use these TAS roles to move into more M&A advisory roles like IB/Corp Dev. PwC comp is a decent amount higher due to the $10k salary increase so it makes the decision a bit harder. Would CMAAS make it impossible to make the jump to IB-type roles due to how much technical accounting is involved?
