Advice needed: my stepmom pays for our vacation every year but she is a monster. I say we all pay our own way and dissolve her hold. The others say just deal with it for a free vacation. She is controlling, mean, and creates a stressful environment. I started getting my own hotel down the street but that made my siblings very mad. So I said Fine everyone pay next year and they folded. I hate it there. But they are my family.
About 3 stays away this year from making SPG platinum. Can get there by spending 12-15k on low category hotels over coming month. Worth it?
In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html

Does anyone know how I can speak with someone more senior at SPG? The customer service I’ve encountered is completely unacceptable and I’m tired of being put on hold for 20 minutes with no solution
Help needed: I have an excel file with thousands of lines with the coordinations of the starting and destination points, and I would need a proxy of the distance in km. Is there any tool available to do it? Thanks!
Do you guys usually do mobile check in on the bonvoy app when on vacation? Is there a better chance of getting upgraded when you check in in person?
$800 flight, $140 hotel, $108 in per diem - all for a 1 hour meeting we could've done virtually.
For the Delta fast track that's going on - does it register a round trip flight as two one-ways? It phrases everything in terms of one-ways, but I'm going to be booking round trip. Thank you!
Best Marriott SPG in Vienna?
It's 8 am EDT and I am already bored of the number of posts below talking about Marriott and SPG merger. HAPPY FRIDAY!
What is right mortgage rate strategy for first time homebuyer - 2.6% with 1.5k lender credit or 2.5 with 1.8k points fee fee. I am leaning towards 2.5 with assumption that I will be able to refinance in future with 2.4 when rates go down further. What would be your choice
Have anyone taken flight lessons before?
Your flight to Cleveland is on time.

Say you’re offered a job that pays $325K, and you can work anywhere within the U.S. (remote job & team with occasional travel to meet team). Where would you live and why? Obviously “it depends” just curious to see the range of responses from this group!
Starting to have anxiety about returning to work and it's only Saturdayyy. Trying to work on controlling this in 2021 & not getting to stressed about work. It's really hard though being WFH now due to covid.
Hello... what are your thoughts about hiring candidates to work remotely? Positives and negatives
Do you think I could expense a weekly meal delivery service (it’s precooked - just have to microwave it) during busy season? Would be delivered to the office and is cheaper than ordering in.

I have an offer from Goldman Sachs as a VP - Compliance in ATL for $164k base and I should expect an annual bonus of 10-20-%. Is this a fair offer? Any room to negotiate up on base?
Thoughts on the DHP (digital health plan) practice within Deloitte? Going through interview stages now. Any other practice areas I should be open to instead within HC?
So, a new associate recently joined our team. We are still WFH. I’ve tried to be friendly with the associate but somehow not getting traction. Any suggestions? I’m the only one that initiates any kind of interaction online too. What’s the norm here? I would expect an associate to reach out more, but they only reach out to tell me to do work, which is fine too, just used to working with more social associates in the past.
For remote learning activities, I’ve tried to give fun assignments to the high schoolers. Does anyone have any creative ideas to share?
I went through a pretty rigorous interview process for a marketing project manager but ultimately wasn't given job. Though most of the feedback was positive, the other candidate had more direct experience with the job responsibilities (digital assets, social media, etc.) My job/company dabbles in digital but it's primarily traditional media. How do I again the experience if I'm limited by the type of work we do?
A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
Bed bugs at the Irvine CA Marriott. Another brand new Marriott called Marriott Spectrum 10 minutes away was much nicer.
If I'm expected to take a Zoom call during my lunch hour, I'm eating on camera. Also, who cares if my lemonade happens to have a salt rim - let's just focus on the work.
