May be a dumb question but, any insights on interview dress code for an Account Director role in NYC?

I would not recommend jeans for male or female candidates. Suggests to me you can’t step it up for important meetings. I still expect my team to dress for senior mgmt meetings and big client meetings. This is obviously an important meeting so be sure to show you are senior enough to know the difference. Save jeans for after you get the job. Men- pants/slacks/ simple shirt or thin crew neck summer sweater. Women- summer dress, capris/sandals and cute shirt.

fashionable but professional. if you are a woman, I recommend a blazer but make it fashion.

Would blue jeans, shoes, nice shirt and a blazer sound appropriate? I haven’t interviewed in a while and feel super self conscious

I generally stay away from blue jeans for an interview. Have done nice new (aka unfaded) black jeans before though

Clothes have the power to affect our inner state. Wear clothes that make you feel empowered.

Not a dumb question! I wore dark jeans, white t, blazer and booties (interviewed last winter), but you can switch out the shoes for wedges. Also a nice dress with a blazer and sandals would be nice.

Align to your sense of their culture. But, for a man, dark slacks (grey/navy) with a crisp white shirt and sport coat. And nice shoes, please.

Not that anyone would be losing sleep over this, but I got a follow up interview for this role I’m interviewing for (third and final I think) and think I nailed it again. Thank you everyone for your advice!!
