I don’t know who needs to hear this (mostly As, Cs, SCs, and some Ms) but here goes.

You are important to the project, but never so important that you cannot leave the project or firm for better opportunities. Being in hero mode is good where you save the day, everyday - but in fact that is neither advisable for your progression nor a recommended practice for the firm. If you have been performing and have had decent social skills, you will not have burnt a bridge when you leave.

I went hero mode for like two years. Every day. New company hires at M, SM level came in and slam dunked my pipeline into sales and took the entire credit for it. They’ve gotten huge bonuses as a result. I was let go of the project after they came in. Point of the story: the firm doesn’t care about your effort, and people will use your efforts to their own advantage without a second thought to you. This loyalty is a one way street and you will inevitably regret it

Bruh. That’s exactly what I needed to hear right now. 🙌🏼

I’ve been in the industry for 23+ years, 16+ of those spent as a Producing Branch Manager. I hold S7, S63, S66, S24 and I’ve completed the education for the CFP (need to pass the exam). I excel in relationship building and providing exceptional service. I’ve only been on the full-service side for the past 2 years and my book of managed money is about $10M, with another $10M+ being self-directed by clients. I’d love to find an RIA job, what type of role would be suggested?

Hi Fishes,

I am B.tech graduate and currently working in BPO sector in Accenture. I am looking to switch to an IT profile but having zero experience in IT sector. Please suggest how can I switch.

I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. Recently interviewed with another company as a Vendor Mgmt partner. Individual contributor, high visible position with potential. Thoughts?
