I still don’t see a ton of agency side media jobs their mostly client side and it seems super competitive given the current state of unemployment. Currently working as an in-house SEO for a big ecommerce company (fortune 500). Currently earning 65K CAD. Contemplating a position for SEO manager on another company, SaaS B2B, very small office (<50people), pay around 80-100K. It's not a startup.

Did anyone made a move like this? From a big company (SEO team has 5+ people) to a very small company? I'm worried about job security and how stressful this new position would be, considering I'll be the only SEO professional there.

Thoughts on making the transition from paid to organic? I'm currently learning technical SEO on the side now and refining my blog writing skills for a friend but wanted opinions of others already in the field. Main reason of trying to transition is looking for slower pace of things

Curious what everyone’s been seeing from the latest Google algo update? I’ve been noticing smaller, niche sites start to show up more in high value SERPs. My hypothesis was that over the pandemic Google over-showed the large sites like NYTimes, Forbes, CNET, TomsGuide, etc in high value categories to make sure users were getting info from well-trusted sources. Now they’re scaling back and giving the little sites some love. Thoughts???

Do you feel that in SEO there are too many ways of conducting the same tasks. I have had a string of managers within the past year, it’s starting to get very annoying as each person says method A is wrong and B is right, another manager would have the complete opposite view. Have you had similar experiences when this practice and adjustment begins to interfere with client deliverables.
