I mean, DOJ is incredibly competitive for litigators. It’s a dream job for many that people will readily take enormous pay cuts to work. I know of a partner making +$1m a year who became an unpaid SAUSA in order to break into a USAO.
I found fulfillment as a prosecutor and a law clerk, much more than as an associate. Maybe check that route.

I'm kind of curious what do you do in contract law? I actually enjoy contracts. Aside from that I struggle with this myself, seeking out professional attainment is definitely a way to obtain meaning in life but consider that changing a job may not be the only path towards seeking out fulfillment. You can give the world what it wants during your day and carve out time for yourself to pursue other interests or just explore things.
Try white collar criminal defense. What is criminal defense but constitutional law - the 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and 14th amendments! In fact, when I don’t want to be direct about what I do (more so when I did criminal defense), I say I practice constitutional law. White collar is also much more akin to contract law than other criminal defense, it’s complex document-intensive litigation. I think your skill set will be well-suited and your interests will be a good motivator. You’ll be closer to the milieu of civil rights litigators too, as you’ll be defending individuals’ civil rights in criminal court while they’re doing it in civil court.
