Forcing me to use my standing desk

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Based on what I've read, AI may make inroads in doing repetitive or low-skill jobs. With jobs that require human judgment it's a different story. It's also worth considering all the news stories about the recent study from MIT that said only 5% of companies using AI can claim it's a success. That 95% failure rate doesn't quite live up to all the AI hype.
Our whole CDI team was sacked (except for one or two nurses for that human judgment part)
I'm starting to feel that way myself. I'm hoping all the privacy concerns with AI will keep it from happening soon, or will at very least require human oversight that'll keep some of us employed. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting nervous. Might need to think about pivoting to something a little less vulnerable to being replaced by AI.
This is the smart thing to do. Large academic centers are investing heavily in AI. Once they figure it out, everyone else is going to follow suit.
