Strange that no HR meeting was called and PIP wasn’t reviewed with you. Also, sounds as though they will use the write-up email as paper trail. I would create my own paper trail and respond back asking for the details (action plan, etc) of your PIP. Either way if this is a true PIP I would suggest updating your resume and start interviewing - just in case ;)
It was reviewed with me verbally and sent to me via email. But it has no timeframe and I wasn’t asked to sign anything.
That sounds so odd. What makes you think you were written up officially if there was nothing to sign? Was HR involved ? Maybe it was more of just a critique?

Sounds very unprofessional and unorganized. Plus is there any paper trail at all? Something that documented it even though you didn't sign? If no paper trail it didn't happen
They sent me an email with the write up. But they said they had no time limit on this and they did not ask me to sign or acknowledge anything
