Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

As diamond I have never not been upgraded, including NYC to LAX. Can’t speak to booking tickets with miles as I’ve only used miles to book lie flat international.
One downside to note on global upgrade certificates: it’s currently very easy to use these on any flight time or location you want. But pre-COVID it was a whole process to find a flight. I would call with a very open mind of when I’d travel for a nice vacation and discuss options available, Rio, Johannesburg, AMS etc. That sucked. But I used one in Jan and had my pick of dates.

Being Sliver Medallion on Delta is better than having Global Services on United. Slight exaggeration, but DL is a much better airline overall.
Diamonds typically clear upgrades >75% of the time, with the exception of some TCONs at peak times (I usually need to use upgrade certificates on JFKSEA around July 4th, for example). But as of last year, you can use upgrade certs (DL equivalent of plus points) to upgrade on award tickets where you want to clear right away (e.g., flights with Delta One), and DL has always allowed complimentary upgrades on award tickets. All TCONs have complimentary upgrades, but the ones with Delta One (e.g., all JFKLAX and JFKSFO) don’t clear until the gate unless you use a certificate.
The requirements for hitting DM are tougher than for 1K, but if you’re traveling that much you should do it with a better airline anyway.
