When someone goes “hi” and I know a question / request is coming it makes me irate. Just ask the question.
This. It’s almost like a trap of some sort

Most people are odd

hi
Because if that person is screen sharing, the notification (if on) is limited to that one message, and not subsequent messages (at least with Skype). I usually send "hi" on its own for that reason, followed by a more detailed message

I support this. Hi- to protect the receiver, but still give all the relevant info available
To make sure they aren’t sharing their screen
Could be sitting next to someone, using another client app to share ..

I don’t think anybody is taking about emails
We are talking about hanging His - a message message generally from somebody you don’t l JW with nothing else. Or worse happened today - somebody pinged from Asia saying “Hi- How are you” and left it
Only time I do that is when I hit enter too soon

Hello
Hi
Pro
I do it as a “hey do you have a second”
Rising Star
I like D2’s approach, I’m just in the camp of....if it can wait... shouldn’t it be an email? If it can’t wait, then why are you waiting after the hi?
I have a long-standing opinion that starting emails with “hi” is kind of bizzare. Why cant we just say “hey” and ease the tension
Hey is for horses so i say “hiiiii” or hola or something
Hey
Hola
Hi
Hi
Hi
Only works if you’re hot
