My firm has decided to add pet insurance as a service we'll offer. Am I the only one who thinks pet insurance is a complete scam?

You think it's a scam until you pay over 1k because your dog decided to eat a sock. No it isn't something that I ever recall being necessary, but animal care is expensive (yes, the 1k bill is from recent personal experience)

like

Yup. My kitten decided to eat my knitting. $6k later, I was really glad to have pet insurance! I think it pays for itself when pets are young and old. If you have a run of the mill pet, maybe it’s not as worth it for the middle years.

I don’t think it’s a scam, I think veterinary care costs a lot of money. Because veterinary care costs a lot of money, pet insurance has a lot of limits and exclusions. It costs more if you have older pets.

Everything is down to money. You can’t get free money anywhere.

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?
