Good Morning. I am searching for either a career pivot or a move that allows me to utilize my skills more proactively. I'm at a stand still currently, and feeling unmotivated. Having been in sales, most of my career, I'm unafraid of new settings, people and objectives.

A little background on myself: I've worked retail in sales and logistics, then moved up to contractor sales and now onto rental inside sales. The newest venture seemed great, until it wasn't.

I bombed a case interview and it lost me a job with a company I’m very interested in. To be fair, I didn’t much prep. I’ve done a couple case interviews and been fine in the past, but I for whatever reason I just blanked and couldn’t think. For context, I’ve worked in consulting and now corp strategy for 8 years and actually had an eng degree UG - work at a traditional CPG and want to move to general management. 401k advice requested - 25 years old, live in nyc, make 125k. I’ve always maxed my 401k to 19500 with a split of regular and roth. Always do the 6k of Roth IRA too. New firm has no matching policy. I understand the benefits of tax so maxing it is beneficial, however, I’m almost breaking even each month. Is it smart to slow the contributions, keep investing myself so I will have money for a down payment down the road? Don’t want to pull on my 401k if not needed
