You've only just started the journey. If you change your mind, there will be plenty of off ramps. Congrats!
Normal to feel anxious with this bug of a purchase - likely the most money you’ll commit to in one day your entire life. But give yourself a couple days to sleep on it and trust your gut (and the inspection)
Big*
Being scared after committing to a huge purchase like this is normal, especially if you've never done it before. Make sure you understand the contract and what your "outs" are. The biggest is usually the inspection.
But congratulations on the new place. If it's within your budget and meets your needs, it's not a HUGE mistake. And it's not forever. Unless you want it to be.
Good luck with the process.
Congrats! It’s the buyers market if you can afford the rates! I am closing on a house next week and I still get cold feet while I’m super excited about it. You got this!
Not a buyers market everywhere. Depending on where OP is it could still be a hugely sellers market and they are worried they overbid/overpaid. Or not, just saying your market is not everyone’s market
I felt the same way! I was panicking that I just made the biggest most expensive mistake of my life! But it all turned out great. We got the house and we couldn’t be happier having a place to call ours. I think what you are feeling is completely normal you are about to spend the most money on a single item so far in your life. Education aside. It’s scary. I remember thinking what if there’s something wrong with the house what if we can’t handle it what if we default on the loan? So many things all at once.
Congratulations on getting this massive step but you are far from the end a lot can happen during the closing period. Our journey was not smooth but we made it and we had a great team fighting for us.
