There isn’t much going on with the exception of health agencies. Remind yourself that winter is coming and you are going to spend a lot on rent to be inside a tiny apartment 24/7
We’re hiring. Though not in NYC, you can work for us from anywhere. We’ve listed a copywriter job, but a good team might be an option. Something to consider.

New York is Pharma Town. There are not many good opportunities, except for Pharma agencies (heavy science). It pays well, but it’s creative suicide (been there).

I made more money than working on consumer. And when I told my first Pharma agency (part of FCB Health) that I wanted to leave they game me a raise. So, yes. It pays well. Even tho it doesn’t fulfill me creatively.
I don’t get these types of questions. Are you not on the same planet?? We’re in middle of a pandemic, nearly every single agency and parent company is on a hiring freeze, even W+K just had layoffs, and were not too far away from Q4 which is historically the worst time in advertising for hiring. Gooooood luck.

CD2, I just switched agencies in the middle of the pandemic. I wonder if you talk to your team that way 😒
The things that ppl move to NYC for are not currently available/open and won't be for foreseeable future (restaurants, bars, cultural institutions). So you'll be plenty bored. And there are already lots of unemployed ppl here so competition will be fierce. But if you can afford to live here for a few months without a job, you'll likely find a nice place with low rent. But otherwise not advisable.

I would find a job first. Move when it’s clear. Everyone, if they’re hiring, is doing it remote first.
Could probably keep my current job for a while and work remote until something pops up 🤷🏼♀️
I’m also thinking of moving back to NYC next year, so would love to hear what the markets are like.
I’ve been living in NYC for 8 years and I want to leave. This place is a shell of itself and it will be for years to come. My advice, come here in 3-5 years when the restaurant and culture scene is back. Otherwise you’re just paying a fortune to enjoy the hot concrete with nothing to do.
