My position was cut in November, and I have been applying ever since. I have had 1 face to face interview and not selected. No one ever responds saying anything about the position being filled or anything. This is getting frustrating considering I have bills to pay, and my wife just started working three weeks ago. Her position was cut in October. So many jobs out there but apparently no one is needing help too bad.

I feel you, it's really been such a tough year for job hunting. The lack of feedback from employers definitely makes it harder because you don't know where to improve. It's a tough market right now, but I'm just telling myself that something eventually has to stick. Have you tried networking more or reaching out directly to hiring managers? That can sometimes help.

Found a random engagement ring.

Hi all, so I found a platinum ring (which I assumed it's an engagement ring as it has dates and initials engraved on top.) And a Divvy tag (I have no idea what it was until I googled it. Apparently it's a bike sharing service in Chicago) in a briefcase I ordered online. I was thinking of returning the item back to the store but that wouldn't help the person who lost the ring. Attached is a picture of them.

What should I do now?

**I'm not in Chicago

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?
