My team is currently looking into a cloud system to store HR Docs such as employee personnel files. We do utilize a payroll system that we can upload those docs too but we don’t think that might be the best scenario. My question is, how do you store your files safely and securely? Paper, the server, a cloud system, your payroll system, etc.?

Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

Our company of 110 EEs has separate providers for payroll and HRIS, not happy with either products. I’m gathering data to make a pitch to move everything into an all-in-one HRIS + payroll.

Does it make any difference to make the change effective the first week of 2023 payroll, or to make a change in payroll providers mid year? I’m thinking it’s best to start fresh at the beginning of the year and not worry about two payroll companies for reporting. What are other things to consider?
