"Just need a change" is a terrible reason. You don't have to be specific on this forum, but be specific with yourself about why you want to leave.
How bad r reviews. Take a risk, ur young and can bounce back
Sometimes you gotta go to a shitty company to try to make an impact before truly appreciating companies with a better culture. If it's Cognizant whom you're thinking of joining, run far. I've not heard anything good about them.
What’s Cap? Yeah alright think I might do it
i just took a 6fig offer with a smaller group coming from a brand named consulting firm so yeaaa there’s always that fear of the unknown. Try to understand project longevity, how long company’s been around, etc...
Take the risk. Left a big firm years ago to join a small firm. It ended up not being a good fit with almost no business growth. Went back to a big firm after about a year. Salary got bumped ~65% in the process (2 jumps in a year).
Jump. You can always come back to any consulting company you've already worked for
@SA1 - $125k / 10 yrs
I did something similar last year, moving from Big 4 to a smaller firm working remote (I'm in Chicago, firm is in NYC/NJ).
If you actually travel and get to meet peers and leaders, then it might be a good opportunity. I ended up working remote 95%, which was not a fit and I left after a year.
Culture is extremely important, I advise you to try to speak with current employees, outside of those involved in the hiring process. Do this to determine the reality of what you are hearing from recruiters and reading online.
Best wishes on your decision!
I’m at a company with great culture right now but need a change
Are you at Cap?
@ba1 what's your base? How many yrs of exp?
Take it and if it isn't good leave and find a new job.
@SC2 - Care to share what you've actually heard about Cognizant?
@ba1 do you not want to be a manger ever? I'm 4 years out of undergrad and up for manager
@SA1 - Congrats to you? *slow clap* You certainly sound like a kid that's 4 years out of school saying stuff like that without knowing anything about my background or current role/level. I don't even have to know you to be certain that I'd never hire you to join my team.
