Do you think you and your significant other should have similar personalities? Question for folks with second homes: Considering buying a vacation home but would be primarily for family use. We currently have a primary residence with a mortgage balance of ~640K, so my understanding is I could only deduct the mortgage interest on 110K of the second mortgage to stay under the 750K cap.
