Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Cogno AI Hey fishes, One of my friends, got offer in cognizant. She have an epfo account with inactive UAN and she changed her name in aadhar recently and this epfo account has the past name. So she raised request for name change 2 months ago and still it's processing. And now cognizant asking the acknowledgement of changed name which the previous company cannot provide for obvious reasons. Will it affect the doj? Or anyone had this kind of problem before? I even learned comprehensive financial modelling through online certification courses. Feeling very discouraged after spending time crafting CVs for each position and only to get rejected. Also, feel like systemic discrimination in play at every step even internally in the organization I work at.
I work between the US and Australia, and hopefully this will help.
Based on your citizenship now and your qualifications, I would wager transaction consulting or M&A advisory could be a good starting point to move into the fields you want if going direct hasn’t worked. Another option could be trying smaller firms first and seeing how that goes.
Those fields can be a bit…old school. In the sense that it can be full of biases around what university, what grad program, sometimes what area you grew up (though I hope that’s not common). It’s an unfortunate reality in that market in Aus that I don’t see as much in US firms (not in NYC and CA anyway)
That’s frustrating, sorry you’re having this experience. You would assume an internal move in MQ would be the easiest path. I would try some strategies outside of the usual interview process, eg. Try finding some people internally in the divisions you like and ask them if you would be down for a coffee. Build up some networks and mentors.
It’s a tough slog, but hopefully once you get there it’s everything you hoped.
