McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Deloitte. It’s 20% more total comp, $17.5k of which $10k is salary which is nice. If you really want the pwc role for whatever specific reasons, ask them to match your other offer. Since you do indeed have negotiating leverage here.
You should also counter the Deloitte offer slightly anyway assuming you haven’t already (and assuming you at least have a few years of exp; don’t counter if new college grad or 1-2 years exp). Give them some options like 95k salary/15k bonus. Mention you have another offer but really are excited about the role and joining Deloitte, no need for specifics. Worst they can say is no and stick to the offer they already gave you.
Negotiation skills are indeed a skill. It starts with the job offer.
First offer is never their best.

College offers are pretty standard so negotiating may be limited.
I will say Deloitte > PWC, but Startegy& > Deloitte, so maybe try to work your way over to S& deals/generalist after going back to them.
Also that’s a big money difference starting out, worth taking by money alone.
If you are conflicted then counter offer with PwC and see what happens. It's worth a shot. But if I were you I would take D!
Salary difference is too big to ignore. Can always do deals at Deloitte, although will say we get the short end of the stick with M&A flow. If you take the offer and want to deals make sure you’re joining the M&A offering portfolio.
I’m at pwc and would say take the money
