Any other Deloitte folks get screwed in their year end rating because of low utilization since there were so few projects to be had earlier this year? Manager openly said it was "beyond my control".
Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)
Anyone on the bench this week? Thanks
Alvarez & Marsal - What’s the average/target utilization (billable utilization) percentage for a Senior Associate in PEPI?
“You need to work more hours to increase your utilization, but be mindful of the hours you’re charging. We need to be efficient with the budget.” Oh... ok.
Enough with the politics and racist shit, lets ask the real questions. What's everyone's bench, dead lift, back squat totals?
What are peoples’ thoughts on crypto currency - will be utilized or just a fad? Do people on here currently own them?
I've been on the bench for a month, should I be worried? There is no projects in my group in sight 😪 any suggestions?
Should I worry abt utilization in1st year? I'm on fed tax but nobody gives me work. I found state tax stuff to do but I'm don't want to be on salt forever.. should I ask for more state stuff?
Had a very early call with the client and foreign lawyers this morning. One of the other country lawyers couldn’t use my telecon number, so I had to set up an impromptu Zoom meeting. In pajamas, no makeup. Firm’s Zoom has no option for the organizer to start the meeting with their camera off for some reason. Client and other lawyers are all female, and they all turned their cameras on in solidarity. I love the supportive women I have the pleasure to work with. Any other Zoom WFH war stories?
How does comp work for entry level IBM CbD program consultants? Is it flat for all or do they pay ppl differently
I may be a junior, but we’re pitching to a potential client against three really good agencies and my CD wants to go to them with our deck of all 17 ideas. 17... Something tells me that’s too much...
Is going to a small firm actually worth it for WLB or is it just taking a pay cut to have substantially the same hours/stress levels? Considering a move to a smaller firm for mental health but not sure if it’ll end up being more of the same. Are there things to look for when looking into smaller firms?
What is the EY FSO-Finance Transformation practice like - does anyone have insight? Also, EY in general - benefits/culture/upper management? I heard about the flexible vacation, how does that work exactly?
What percentage of your time is spent explaining why something cannot be done to a client (or why it cant be done in the original timeframe)
Missed a connection because my first flight was delayed due to an insufficient amount of seatbelt extenders. W...T...F😑
As an ADC applying this summer for 2022 start, I haven’t gotten a chance to connect with any L.E.K. Consulting members and I really want to get to know the company better before moving on with my application. Any L.E.K. Consulting fish out there willing to spare a few minutes to chat about their work, the company, the culture etc? Thanks!
Feeling so down after being turned down for MD. And exit appears to be so hard - getting no traction in Industry or PE right now.
Hi , Need your advice. Im about to complete 1 yr in tcs. I was forcefully allocated to a support project ,now i have cleared digital exam, but when i asked my HR, she is asking me to stay till 1 year in the project for getting release, since my digital cadre depends on bands i have decided to stay till i get band. My concern is that what would be the best course of action if i lose my digital cadre due to a bad band or i will not be able to get release from this project ? Can a 1 yoe switch ?
Are people still applying after only 2 years in consulting? Seems common for MBB but I wonder how you built solid recommendations / experience in so little time post-undergrad.
So my client is “business casual” but everyone typically wears suits without the tie. How do you guys structure different outfits? I feel like I’m running out of clothes already and need to buy more
Are there any blackout days for vacation at EY? If I have a vacation in my ARMS for months, can somebody push back and say we need you? I spent a lot of money and time planning this trip...
Recent H1B stamping experiences at the Mumbai consulate? Second time stamping (in 5th year of H1B), and not eligible for dropbox. Want to be extra cautious given the current immigration climate...
Love working next to the client's administrative assistants who blast different music out loud all day 😀🔫
Those of you that went off on your own to start a business, what did you do about health insurance? I’m single, 28, no dependents.
I’ve made the decision to start applying for in house positions which I think is an uphill battle given my purely litigation background—please send good vibes my way☺️☺️☺️
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
