Set recurring OOO/block calendar from 6.30 to 8.30am and 5 to 7pm to help kid get ready to start the day and end the day.
Stopped drinking to give myself more energy
Tried my best to be “present” and not looking at my phone
Long weekend/weekend/holidays plan to be with kid instead of family and friends to make for all the extremely long hours we work in consulting which by the way is insane

One other add… weekly planning session with my wife. Sundays. We don’t do it every week but when we do, we are both so much more on the same page… know what’s up for dinner, who has events, what we think we will be up for socially, etc. We need to be better about doing it. Huge help
i get very tired by the end of the day so i had to have better habits - no screen in the bedroom, no alcohol unless I'm out with friends
Cutting down on alcohol has helped immensely! Daily phone calls with the kids before bath time and sometimes also in the morning before my first meeting
I cut down on alcohol, gave up watching tv ( including live sports) and re-allocated most of my time on Friday afternoons , Saturday/Sunday mornings to do things with my son
Have a 2 year old and a one month old. I got as much help as I could honestly. We had/have a night nanny for when our kids were newborns for the first 3 months, and have a phenomenal nanny during the day who helps with things like making dinner and meals for the kids. I block 6:30-8pm as much as possible so I can be there for bedtime when I'm in town and spend 7-8am with our oldest every morning as well.
BCG2, I’ll just say it. It doesn’t sound like you’re there and it I think the way you’ve phrased certain things - you want to be. Let me be the voice in your head that says, be there.
