Not only I’m over 40, but also a bit over 50. Recently I was approached by an agency I really like. It’s too early in the interview process, but if I end up getting an offer it’d be the best agency I have ever worked for. And yet, I feel a lot of anxiety because I don’t know if I’d be able to keep up with their level and energy. Has anybody had a similar experience?

No, but I’ve seen a lot of people get a younger partner and find energy they didn’t know they had. 😄 Don’t pass up a dream, you may regret it later.

I am older than you and got a new job this year at a place of my dreams. Ive done a few late nights. Only fell asleep once on the job, but no one cared. 😴

I am 53 and 2 years ago I was hired for the best job and salary I have ever had. Never underestimate yourself, you've got this! It is not about energy, it is about experience and expertise.

Love this

If you’re over 50, you most likely have 10x the time management skills, 5x the knowledge and 3x the stamina of most young creatives. You can do this.

You’ve got a lot of experience. Maybe you can teach the youngins something! As someone who is a lot older than you, I freelance at a lot of agencies where the creatives are 10-20 years younger than me. Once we connect, they all know that I know my shit and will make their vision a reality. It’s fun and I welcome every challenge. I love what I do and am very passionate about making the best creative product I can. I’ve always joked that my dream when the time does come, is to drop dead on a set.

Cool I always enjoyed working with older producers when I was younger. Alot of the younger ones would be frantic and nervous. Older ones seemed more calm and collected and always had great stories

A) Take me with you. B) Your experience will help compensate for any energy gap.

I’ll take you if they take me first :) still having interviews. Wether they extend and offer or not, I am already grateful to have the opportunity to talk to this agency because it’s been a confidence boost that I dearly needed.

I think you’ll find you outwork them all. I’m personally still the last one to turn off the proverbial lights at night. And you can also cut to the chase on getting at the good work faster. Hard part will be knowing you’ll be reporting to them soon because they have a big Tik Tok following. If you can divorce yourself from that, trust in your abilities, and only care about the work you’ll be just fine.

You’ll be fine. Craft a deliberate thoughtful personal brand for yourself.

I was discussing my recent job search with some friends and we got into a small debate. I stand firm on not wasting my time applying for a job that doesn't post the salary with the job description, anyone else do this? I feel like anytime I have interviewed for a job that didn't post the salary, they end up lowballing me during the offer phase.

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬
