Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.
Honestly I can only suggest that you do your best but please don’t sacrifice your mental or physical health to this job or this pandemic.
We don’t know what their lay-off criteria will be yet. The last I heard is that layoffs are still a last resort. Try to accumulate experience, knowledge, and relationships that will benefit you regardless of which firm you’re at.
I’m in the industry for about 2 years, so definitely do not have the experience, thanks for sharing your insights!
No fear - the decisions are made regardless whether you are currently staffed or on the bench; it’s a fight till the very end
Speaking from experience
How do you mean? They don’t do layoffs based off your performance?
Focus on quality of work rather than utilization. You don’t need to kill yourself with work assuming people will be let go based on utilization metric.
If you're a new associate hire I especially wouldn't worry. You're cheap, laying you off doesn't help the bottom line. Also, chronically working too much can reduce the quality of your work (e.g. If you get tired or burned out), and that's not going to look good either. Take care of yourself and have some empathy for your colleagues who are in a tougher spot without enough work and you'll be ok
Haha, mostly right yes I haven’t seen much new. I was hoping someone had some great epiphany or personal experience which made them feel secure, by clearly looking for a unicorn. You’re right about getting burnt out, I regularly tell my managers to leave me alone for the day lol. It’s honestly all about communication. I feel confident in myself and my relationships and my boundaries but I still have to fight this daily urge to just continue working as if this is indentured servitude so that I can retain my job but I don’t think that’s true at all
Is your group overutilized?
People in my group generally have average to low utilization right now
It’s a good practice to always have your resume readu
Once told this industry was recession proof. We work long hours on a daily basis and at the end of the day nothing matters. Should’ve gotten an art degree and pursue my real dream instead.
