Hi everyone, realizing my career may be incompatible with my needs at home (I have a school age child with special needs). Any moms/dads find any companies or jobs in the UX field that are part time? I am wondering if it’s possible to stay in this field or if I need to take a step back and figure out something new. What has worked for any of the working moms/dads out there. I need to be free from 2pm onwards.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

Looking for stability, decent WLB and good growth opportunity. Difference of 1-2 lacs doesn't matter too much.

These are the final options I have. No more interviews/offers lines up.

I got an offers from two companies in flat steel products for Pune location.
One company is startup company categories under dealer based on e-commerce
And one one big brand company but they have started new divisions for e-commerce flat form

Which one should i choose? ( work life balance/ stability/sustainability/growth)

Pay scale for both nearby but brand company is paying less than expected.

Is booking 40hrs a week freelancing for one company a good idea? Or does that seem like you don’t have anything else going on? I would like a good work life balance with the ability to take off weeks at a time in the middle of all this.

Best consulting firms with best WLB? Do they exist? Young professional starting to think about where I'd like to work hard to end up in the next 5-10 years.

I recently had an interview with HCL and cleared 2 rounds of technical interview. I waited for a week for HR call but no such call was received. I then contacted the POC who scheduled the interview (he is an HCL employee) and he said that I have been shortlisted and will receive HR call shortly. After being in Fishbowl for sometime, I see everyone has something (or many things) they don't like about their company (even MBB, Big 4). From outside those companies look like potential employers for candidates.

I know grass is always looks greener (sometimes actually greener) on the other side.

But what are good consulting firms which is basically perceived good both by employees and potential candidates?

P.S. Consulting WLB is tough. Let's discuss what other things?

With job my mind gets diverted whenever there is work load and I loose my rhythm. Studies become inconsistent. Sometimes I am so tired after the work hours.
