Hey all newbie here. My husband and I are living that Double Income No Kid life wanting to (Financial Independence) Retire Early.

Both in tech in the Bay Area. I’m in Arizona visiting family and am thinking of an investment property. Does anyone have a book/course/video that they personally have used and recommend for flipping houses? I want to do some research there’s a lot of content out there.

Can someone explain how to maximize the 401k employer contribution -- by when during the year should I have invested the full $18k to get the 1.5% match?

Does the $20,500 pre-tax 401k contribution limit include employer match? I.e. My contribution + Employer 6% match = $20,500? I know that the combined employer/employee contribution limit is around $60k, but from my understanding that ends up being due to after tax contributions. Apologies if this has been answered before - thanks!

Working as a senior data analyst at startup clinical trial company in the NE. Have 6 years full time work experience in data analytics post graduate degree. With part time positions during and post undergrad + quantitative masters, more like 8-10 years. What is considered a good salary? If I've maxed out my TFSA, should I continue investing through an RRSP or a personal investment account?

For context, I also have a good pension. My main concern is that while the RRSP will be nice to lower my taxable income now, I'm worried when I retire I'll have to withdraw too much from both the RRSP and pension. Thoughts?

Is this a good time to move from pre-tax 401K to Roth IRA? We have been one income family last 4 months but I still expect year income to be in $250K-$270K range. Considering conversion for $40K amount.

How do you deal with 401k in the US? Can you withdraw without penalty?

Currently 25 years old.
Goals:
* Own a home in a HCOL
* 2 kids (eventually)
* Retire at 50 on $125k/year.

Envelope math:
* $125k/year would require an investment portfolio of ~$3M.
* Targeting a $2M home (split with partner)
* 2 kids - $1M to raise both (including college fund, split with partner)
* $500K buffer for unexpected expenses
* 33% tax

Therefore, 6.5-7M retirement savings needed. To hit this (assuming 6% return after inflation), I’d need to save ~$110k/year.

How does this sound?

Hi all - I'm on a £100-110k base + bonus at a tier 2 firm. This is in the region where personal allowance for tax starts eroding away..
