The rest of the workforce freaking grew up making slides and crunching numbers in coach class middle seats. Anything at home is a luxury.

In an attempt to be healthier, I built a permanent standing desk. Now, once every couple hours my Apple Watch reminds me “it’s time to stand up” and I feel superior to all those chair sitters out there.

Where can you buy a good office chair and sit/stand desk near Toronto? Getting them shipped from the US is mad expensive.

Have you ever tried to bring about a change/stood up for something at home/office etc. Did it succeed/fail? How was the experience?

Is there any one time home office setup allowance still provided for recent new joiners?

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. In a complete rut. Haven’t worked out in 2 months, traveling too much for work and for leisure, and have put on a ton of weight. Tips for getting back into it?

Experience sharing on calories deficit -
I have a normal body build but want to lose a few pounds(especially around my belly). I am making visible progress now by eating less(work gets busy and I use that to forget about hunger), a lot of walking, have casein protein to feel less hungry. Diet is really what do the trick.
But there are drawbacks too - my energy level(especially around night time) drop significantly that the level of exercise I used to do feels hard (light/mid intensity)

My DOJ with PWC AC Bangalore is in the first week of April 2022 as per Offer Letter. YESTERDAY evening I have received an E-Mail stating my DOJ is changed to 03-Mar-2022 which is TODAY. I’m 23 and independent. Working full time and studying full time is taking a serious toll on my mental health. I’m always tired, unmotivated, depressed, sometimes angry at my life, and I don’t know what to do. I’m in my sophomore year. I also don’t work in the field that I’m studying (computer science) because I’m always rejected without an interview, which is another aggravating factor for me. It’s hard to have time to work on personal projects to make my portfolio more attractive.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered.
