When negotiating terms of a new job role, how do you go about discussing extra vacation days or signing bonuses?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
After consulting, how hard is it to change industries (i.e. from CPG marketing to tech marketing role)? Got a good job offer in CPG/Beauty but wanted to have flexibility in case I don’t like it
Is it just in my experience or are recruiters/hiring managers really reluctant these days to discuss salary bands for a given role? My logic for asking is to determine if I should consider a given role or pass if doesn't meet my salary requirements rather than continue additional interviews and find out later. Thoughts?
Just got a lateral hire offer for a Sr Associate role with BCG. Contract states that I can go for Consultant promo in 12 months. I'm interpreting this as, if I don't make the promo threshold in 12 months, I'd be counseled out. Is this a reasonable assumption? Or would I get a few more months of time to work on feedback? I'm nervous - should I be? :(
Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
Tax manager role at a fintech startup. What kind of salary should one expect? Do they typically offer equity as well? And most importantly, would this be a good exit option for someone with a compliance heavy background that does not want to be a partner at B4
I’m just beginning the lateral hunt and looking to make the move from boutique to big law. Curious what firms, if any, are still notoriously strict about law schools even for a mid-level position. My work experience is spot on, but I graduated from a regional school in the Midwest (top 10% and law review board). Hoping to not waste my time applying to firms that will auto-ding because my school isn’t blue chip.
I think I am so depressed that I can’t make myself to focus on work or find motivation. Even when I am given a role to show next level I just don’t find a purpose to do it. Can I take LOA on H1-b ? I think I need to take a break.
Any reviews on Mckinsey Private Equity(PEPI) team? Position: Software Developer. McKinsey & Company
Have been pinged for a possible role as Director of Operations at a promising looking startup with a 50%% pay increase & equity. It looks like an amazing opportunity.. but my husband and I have just started trying for our first kid, and I'm not sure about leaving the stability and benefits of Big 4, even though I feel like I have run out of career growth here. Has anyone changed jobs at a similar point, or worked at a startup as a new mom, that might be able to share perspective or opinions?
I have a lead on a great paying Sr Business Affairs role. Can do fully remote. DM for details.

Can anyone tell me if PwC's non-client-serving Director role is the same rank as an EY Director? Or, is it more like an EY Associate Director?
What are you Corp Tax people thinking about after this busy season? As a Senior I'm not sure if I should leave yet as I hear the exit ops are not good until manager for Tax. Also thinking about leaving for general accounting jobs but don't exactly feel month end close forever is my thing. Goal is to be a VP or director in tax but only because that's all I know fo non-PA jobs. Idk, think'n
I am having 5+ years of experience in backend development and I have cleared all technical rounds of EY for SDE 2 role. Tomorrow, I am going to have an HR round for a salary discussion. can anyone suggest the expected salary for the same profile, what should I ask HR about related to compensation?
Facebook has followed Google in making vaccination mandatory to work in person at the office. More companies will likely follow suit.
What’s the best way to get into crypto? Finally left the big 4 world where independence sucked and made me jump through a bunch of hoops just to invest in anything from certain stocks to crypto. Looking to learn a lot.

Anyone interested in investing in self storage deals? I’m beginning to raise money for deals with high IRR. Please drop a burner and I’ll reach out.
Grew up in a small town and really fortunate to join consulting. Been really curious about MBB and what strategy entails. Can someone please walk me briefly in your shoes on a normal M-F?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Which one of you Accenture folk are on this project? With a bill rate like that it's gotta be ACN India. Spill the beans or I'll tag you in my group chat. "Facebook pays contractors $16.50 per hour, hired by consulting firm Accenture, to read your ‘encrypted’ WhatsApp messages, shares info with prosecutors" https://www.rt.com/news/534257-facebook-whatsapp-moderators-read-messages/
Everyone talks about career suicide if you leave big 4 too soon, but shouldn’t overall life satisfaction be more important?
Anyone heard anything regarding opportunities at Wix (website company) Recruiter approached me for a BizOps role. Didn’t realize so much of their operations were in Israel (role would be in the US)
Does anyone have any insight on interviewing, culture, and salaries at Compass for the Sr. Associate level?
Can someone tell me where should I put my money, Roth or traditional? Should I also contribute to hsa? How do I max out all contributions and benefits?
Does anyone have any experience working at Klarna in the US NYC? Curious to hear about culture/perks. Klarna Inc
Looking for an exit opp. 6+ years as a life science consultant. 4 years before that at various roles in life sciences from R&D to business. Open to new industries. Help! Get me outta here!
Does Accenture usually reject via email? Finished the entire interview process and they reached out to schedule a call. Was curious to know if I should expect and offer or possible rejection.
Anyone ever see someone’s health deteriorate while working in public accounting? 3 years in and I feel as unhealthy as I have ever been. My family is noticing and constantly asking if I am okay. Wondering if others experience this. 🧐
I have 10+ years of experience Agency side, but looking to move Client side with remote work. I've applied for a number of roles either directly on Client sites or via LinkedIn, but haven't even received anything other than a straight rejection at the first stage. Wondering if anyone has experienced similar and overcome it/any tips. My resume has a number of large Agencies and global clients on it, with (IMO at least) some nice success stories, but wondering if I'm missing something obvious.
For Oracle Functional Consultant with 4+ years of experience (Non-MBA) , what will be the ideal salary in PwC SDC ?
Love it when the leadership realizes that the presentation was supposed to be unbranded 9 months into the project and 30 status reports later😳🔫
Thinking about buying a single family home for ~600k in the next year or so OR pushing it out an additional year to get a multi family for ~1m. Thoughts? Current HHI ~175k, $40k student loan debt ($200 monthly) no other debts (credit card/car etc) Project HHI for option two ~210k. Let’s assume I can save 75k for DP for option 1 and 150k for option 2.
Thoughts on Dentsu Aegis? I've received an offer for a role (promotion) and thinking about whether it is a sound move - especially in this environment. They went through furloughs and pay cuts in April due to COVID. I'd be making the move from EY which is a great company to work with - but there is such a long line up to get a promotion, and for roles I've interviewed for internally I get the good ole - you were awesome and it was rly close, but someone was just a better fit.
