Company, airline might reimburse/give voucher for hotel if you have status or if it's their 'fault' (e.g. mechanical failure; weather is considered out of their control)

Always company. Also realized to never allow airlines to provide vouchers. Crappy gross hotels far away from airport
I’ve had great luck with Delta vouchers. Only ever been put up in Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton or better right next to the airport.
The only crappy part is sometimes the hotels don’t recognize my Titanium / Diamond status without me pushing since it’s a voucher

I always call our travel and have them arrange something, as another mentioned airline isn't putting you up at the Ritz. They will put you wherever is cheap and it may be gross 2 star hotel. Your company will at least put you somewhere reasonable. ( Also not the Ritz most likely lol)
