Our agency has been forcing AI down our throats for a while now. I use it a ton and it’s starting to make my feel like it isn’t even my work anymore. Anyone else?
Don’t get me wrong - there’s a lot of work that goes into coding and prompting. And with timelines getting tighter AI gets things done faster. Not sure how to feel about it all but it feels pretty icky right now. Capitalism I guess?

I just keep hopefully telling myself that eventually the government will step in and regulate the use of AI - not out of the kindness of their heart, but because they can’t collect income tax on a machine. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Strategist 1 - I agree with your logic but the reality IMO is that most the work in our industry is already homogenized and unexceptional. And sadly most clients are ok with that. This “good enough” mindset is the bigger problem than the actual tech. The tech just lets them justify the same mediocre crap at a lower cost/faster speed

We’ve been prompted (sorry I had to) to use WPPs AI. Then, a few months ago, WPP rolled it out as a SaaS model. So essentially, we’ve been training our replacements. Oh brave new world…

“Coding”? Say more plz

Yeah - Problem definition, system design, logic and implementation. Typically I translate all of this into code because it’s the preferred language of LLMs. All to say it’s a complicated process to actually build useful agents / workflows. Leadership doesn’t seem to understand/respect this part and timelines don’t either.

You could ask the AI what makes your role necessary or how to stand out from others?

Be Proactive.
Look for a way to remain relevant or seen with value above AI. People do it everyday.

I know this feels like a lot but don't give in to the fear. It's just False Evidence Appearing Real.
Remember whatever you believe is True. Even lies.

Write down what you are grateful for and why.
You will see a shift in your gut feelings & success.

Peace.

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

How do you deal with a manager who expects 3 months of work overnight? I have tried structuring , creating a plan to show him how the activities are being executed. However, he seems to be someone who turns around every other hour to ask ‘Is it done’? I am usually pretty good at managing expectations but having a hard time conveying how unreasonable he is being. Despite being organized, I am coming across as scattered and jumbled since I have been working 15+ hours with no food and break daily

This executive I support has given me an e-gift card for the 3rd time in the past 5 months. Each gift card is $300.

I had already told him monetary awards were not necessary as the "thank-you" and words of appreciation were enough for me.

Is it normal to receive such large monetary awards? I think 50~100 is acceptable

I'm new to marketing and I am not formally educated in it. I have just been learning through experience with the business. I'm supposed to put together a Market report for our sales team to refer to but I have been stuck on what I even include. I have an expensive subscription to a reporting database and I am supposed to translate these technical reports into 20-30 slides. I can't figure out if I am overthinking something simple or lacking some knowledge that people formally learn in school.
