Because they don’t sell? Revenue cures all

^ Amen. Pretty much the only reason, other than stupidity (ie, ethics issues). It’s generally not sudden, and there is help/support to get back on track. I have known several partners who have lost shares and bounced back. MD can be a bit more precarious, but again there are lots of ppl who want to help them succeed.

@AP1 great context and it makes sense; hence why they are MD from a risk perspectivd. On the other hand, I'm sure you've seen cases where partners were bought out and then pushed out — are these instances related to lack of sales or more importantly a partner not able to grow an account, strategy practice or firm initiative? I'm sure it's probably much harder for partners to leave the firm and try to make a case at a competitor for the same title and pay on the other may be even tougher without much leverage (I.e., bringing clients or work)... Just curious because I've seen both MDs and partners outsted I suppose

Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. I'd appreciate any success stories or pointers you can offer in regards to this transition.

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good? I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. Trying to decide between soylent or huel as a meal replacement 1x daily. Anyone have recs? Goal: shed ~5-10 lbs and keep it off over the next few months.

I got out of my water drinking habit and finding it hard to build back up to 100oz + per day. I don’t like the fact I’ve added in drinks with fake sweeteners to get more fluid intake. What do you all drink to supplement water that is better than some artificially flavored and/or colored beverage? I feel nothing exists and I just need to get back to my water habit. Maybe any good water bottles that help you drink more?
