Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
Has anyone else ever dated a coworker?

I don’t think many people accept a new role when they’re fully confident they’re going to “nail it.” There’s always a learning curve waiting (even when you’ve been “essentially doing the job” already)
We’re at a point where we’re confident in what we’re doing and we lead our own projects at times and sometimes even a team, but that’s a jump I wouldn’t make until I know I have every right tool under my belt to be a successful director - and experience is a huge piece of it. You can be a great leader, have presence, be the best strategist ever, but the value that comes from experience in different teams, agencies, working on different clients and the different challenges you’re exposed to that at least for me reminds to continue learning and exploring before I jump into a bigger role.
I absolutely agree ACD 1 - there’s always a learning curve but I also feel there has to be some self awareness. But I’m also fresh into Senior position so maybe 2 or 3 years in I’d feel differently.
Yes
Nope. I know I have a lot to learn
When the opportunity presents itself, rise to the damn occasion.
Only if it were a CD position at VaynerMedia
If you think you can meet 80% of the job description, take the interview. When you're there, ask what success looks like to them and be honest about the areas in which you are looking to grow. They'll be happy you're self aware and prob low ball you a bit on salary since it'll be your first time in the role. But if you can meet their definition of success, there's no reason not to go for it.
@ss1 would u take the job if offered?
