People posting their rejections to LinkedIn like they're a badge of honor

Why are you redacting a post from a public forum? Anyone can find it just by googling a sentence from the post.

I like to provide a modicum of privacy even though there are psycho stalkers out there as you have demonstrated.

That's the whole point. While I would never do this, this is how some people move on, use reverse psychology, or want to share with people that to succeed, you need to fail because all anyone ever posts are successes.

I don't see this as cringe but not something that matches my personality, so I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't judge someone else for making this post.

A1, OPs words were badge of honor but essentially, yes. The better way to phrase it is that the people making these posts on LinkedIn are doing so framing it as a learning opportunity showcasing transparency and authenticity, resilience, and a growth mindset, encouragement to others, building a personal brand, and learning from their failures. It becomes "cringe" or rather negative when all the person does is post failures and doesn't strike a balance with positive outcomes and achievements.

We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Does anyone else feel that the more content someone puts in their LinkedIn headline, the more full of it they are? I say this as someone with a bunch of stuff lol but at least it’s all at one company and accurate.

I’m talking mostly about two kinds of people. 1. The influencer who is actually unemployed, but lists 25 BS things they do
2. The brand collector, who writes “ex-“ for every former company they worked at and school they went to. Maybe less full of it but still insufferable.

This is the very definition of privilege

Able to post something so absurdly wrong (Google PMs in the comments explaining that she transferred ladders when she switched jobs internally, hence pay change)

Able to become a product manager at Google and STILL not comprehend how misleading the race aggregation stat is “Black women make 58 cents to every $1 a white man makes!” not taking into account job choice and individual opportunity.

..all while the comments are filled with blind support

on the way to an interview this morning eating a sandwich. I walked past a homeless man who had a stray cat perched on his lap. He asked for a bite of sandwich to feed them both as they hadn’t eaten in days. I gave the whole sandwich over and headed off to the interview. As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat. Truly inspirational when you work hard

I woke up today tired.

My work cell was buzzing and then I remembered something.

I forgot to thank the bus driver that dropped me off a few days ago.

I got up and rushed downstairs to find the bus driver.

It was raining outside but I was already running barefoot to the bus stop.

I stood there soaked in my pajamas as the bus approached.

Then, the door opened. The driver got up and shook my hand.

I sat down and started my shift.

I’m the bus driver. Reminder to love and thank yourself.
