Planning a first date near Union Station and looking for a good spot for drinks. Needs to be classy but not pricey, quiet enough to talk, and open late (past midnight would be perfect). Any suggestions for bars or lounges nearby?

You can’t go wrong with Library Bar at the Fairmont Royal York. It's right across from Union Station. Gorgeous atmosphere, not too loud, and surprisingly reasonable for the vibe. They stay open pretty late, too!

You can consider "C'est what?" You can find quiet spots in there, open till late and great underground bar kinda vibe

This one time I had to go to the union just to get a beard net while I worked in a kitchen.

I read a contract from San Diego that had some very interesting language for Special Educators. Thinking about sending it to the Union to see.

Anyone have rate advice for a stint in reality? Non-union, web and streaming platforms, day rate. I do expect it to be lower than advertising rates but need a number to come at them with.

Do I work at a toxic workplace?

We had a team touchbase where we as a group were asked our concerns regarding year end. I raised my concerns about staffing/expectations (the team is 75% new) since last year was demanding with us being up to 1 AM the day before deadline.

My director was on the call but not my VP. My VP reached out today and said he doesn’t appreciate hearing such comments on the grapevine but I was confused b/c all i did was answer the question I was asked.

When do you think associates are usually let go in small practice groups that are currently being overwhelmed with work? Is it when it starts to slows down or when they already have a candidate to replace you? Just trying to figure out how long I have after annoying a partner 😂.

So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

We’ve already rented the car for those days, will have to drop it back Sunday 10 AM.

Thank you so much!
