Had only one call with my TL in first two months. Few weeks later, on workday I noticed that my TL got reassigned. Contacted him and have setup regular catch-ups. He dropped a bomb that he is leaving and I will be reporting to partner. Partner is time poor and no feedback is offered. Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

How do I talk to my boss about being more present (boss is never in office, has “too many” emails, never answers his phone) without being seen as insubordinate?

At a startup I left because of this, my boss had been there since day 1. He was a nightmare. The last straw was when he took out his anger at a home issue on me and made fun of me for being upset. HR told me they couldn't do anything about him.

This is the only bowl I can think to post in, but I'm really feeling it today.
