Curious for those in public accounting right now….are any of you open to leaving still with busy season coming closer? I know when I was in public, I was hesitant from 1/15 until 4/15 but wasn’t sure if this is still the norm? I want to be respectful and not reach out to people if it’s too late as to not tempt them if it would look poorly on their resume. Would love your advice!

Given the potential pay with Firm B is significant (I’d say life-changing), I scheduled the interview. Should I disclose Firm A during the interview or wait and only disclose if Firm B makes an offer? Between now and the interview, I will not have completed any significant work for Firm A.

Left Deloitte this year. Kind of felt bad about missing the retention bonus bc I still like DT. But I got an unexpected $60k RSU award today and now I’m not feeling bad anymore. Still will always be grateful for my time at DT though.

Thoughts on leaving PA primarily due to the metrics based culture (utilization, dtc, use of X digital tool, revenue, margin, etc). I find this aspect of PA stressful and exhausting but not sure if this is something you just get used to. Currently a manager and seems like the metrics just change over time / don’t get easier.
