I think the test might have changed some since I took in early 2016, but memorize the process matrix found in the PMBOK. When the test starts right them all down on a sheet of paper so you have something to refer too.
Also - your first step is almost always to analyze
I did a week boot camp class and took the exam 4 days after. Spent 2 days cramming even more and I passed. Company reimbursed for everything as long as I passed. Was totally worth it.
Have you used any apps? I love the apps for any certs I'm getting. You set up quizes and just keep flipping through them until you know them really well. Make sure you get a good one for the latest BoK and exam. There is always time to flip through a few questions while waiting for meetings, in an Uber, bus, plane, any downtime, etc
Great tip!
Rita Flash Cards, memorize them. And YouTube, it’s a video that shows you the process breakdown in 45min and a 13 min or so video of how to memorize the processes
Can you write out all the processes, EVM formulas, etc.? If you can do that, and understand the materials, it should be fine.
There are some great crash courses on udemy.
Just write the matrix thing. If there's an answer choice regarding communication and how you either poorly communicated or need to communicate to stakeholders better, that's usually the answer (swear I had like 40 questions like this)
OP- did you pass?
Yes!!! Forgot to come back and update. Even managed to pull it off "above target" range. 😂 Biggest thing for me was memorizing/brain dumping the process matrix and then orienting myself each question as to WHERE in the process you are for that question. For example, if you know you're still in initiating, then you don't yet have a project management plan yet - so that's not your answer. Don't waste your time on the overly complicated chart in Rita - the more simple PMBOK one is fine.
Same and I’m scared!
